Selwyn presented and attended an accounting software conference focusing on the Intuit products, as well as Method Integration and Fishbowl.  He presented in four sessions including two QuickBooks Point of Sale stump the expert sessions, a QuickBooks and eCommerce session, and a Method Integration session that focused on customer portals and web forms.  Selwyn was able to reconnect with many accounting experts from around the country and was able to meet with various key vendors that provide integrated accounting solutions including Intuit, Method Integration, Fishbowl and a number of other up and coming vendors.

The conference definitely focused on moving applications and business processes to the cloud while partnering with good partners that can deliver this securely and effectively.  The web has revolutionized many aspects of our lives already and will continue to revolutionize the accounting software industry as businesses move data to the web to gain more flexibility, reduce overall IT costs, and to have more integrated systems.  We will continue to recommend both desktop/server based solutions and web-based solutions as it makes sense in individual circumstances, but are excited for the longer term, web-based prospects in the accounting software industry for the future.
